At the end of September I had the honour of photographing a special couple on their wedding day. Although it rained all morning and early afternoon that day, it stopped just in time to get some photos of the bride and groom before the ceremony. It was a super cold day and the wind was relentless, which meant we had to be accommodating and change our direction based on which way it was blowing. It was very quickly realized that my photography umbrella was useless even with my husband holding it. Luckily, cloudy grey skies not only cast amazing light, but also added some interesting drama to the pictures. Both the bride and groom were excellent sports and put up with me stopping them several times in different locations to get just one more photo! The bride deserves a special shout out for being amazing as she wore a beautiful white sundress which was knee length and short sleeved…I’m sure she was freezing! After the before pics, we did some family photos and then the ceremony began a little after sunset. It was a gorgeous setting overlooking the water in Port Dalhousie and Sam and Steve said “I do” amongst twinkle lights and glowing candles. Congrats to the happy couple on the beginning of a new journey together!
